According to Deputy Police Chief Adam Bondarek, city police arrested Joseph Cordell Oglesby, 23, of Littleton, in connection with an Oct. 11, 2009, shooting stemming from a fight.

“He had gone by a residence and was involved in an altercation,” Bondarek said. “He proceeded to discharge a firearm several times, striking two vehicles which were occupied.”

With cooperation from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Roanoke Rapids Police were able to get Oglesby into the police department, where he was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon.

Oglesby was charged with four counts of discharging a firearm and one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

He was placed in the Halifax County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
