In the early morning hours Tuesday, two suspects were caught on camera maneuvering merchandise and allegedly leaving the premises without paying, said Roanoke Rapids Police Detective Charles Vaught.

Vaught said the video showed just after 3 a.m., the male and female had a computer, a flatscreen monitor or television and possibly other items in a shopping cart, pushed it to an alarmed door exit in the lawn and garden center, then took the items out of the cart setting them near the door.

Vaught stated it looked like the male suspect sent the female out of the store through another exit, then she pulled the car up to the lawn and garden center door, the alarm went off and the male put the merchandise in the car.

Police describe the female as white, stocky build, brown hair worn in a ponytail, about 5 foot, 10 inches tall and weighing between 175 to 180 pounds.

Investigators describe the male as white, wearing a camouflage jacket and short brown hair with facial hair. The surveillance video showed him wearing dark pants with a white stripe down the side.

Detectives said the suspects were also caught on camera outside of the building using a dark colored sedan type vehicle.
