It was fireworks early in the match up between the Lady Panthers and the Lady Jaguars when Melanie Jackson put Rocky Mount on the board with a jumper. KIPP’s Taniqua Ingram answered with a jumper. Jaquar Jasmine Sharpe answered with a two-pointer and Courtney Smalls of the Panthers made it a four-all ball game by driving the lane for two.

Back and forth they went until it was a one-point game, 7-6, and KIPP went on a 12-0 run that started in the first period and ended in the second when April Poage hit a jumper for two. The Lady Panthers never slowed down after that and led, 26-12, at the half. Jay Dailey led the Panther charge with 10 first half points, Chelsea Martin had five and Smalls had seven.

After the break it was all KIPP Pride with Smalls getting hot for nine points, Daily for two and Shakela Banks for two that led to a, 41-26, led at the end of three.

The Lady Jaquars scored 14 points in the third but was never really able to close the gap when they only scored six points in the eight remaining minutes of the game.

On the other hand the Panthers only scored eight more points but it was enough for  the win and to play in the winners bracket.
