ROANOKE RAPIDS —  Because of the rain which  drenched the area several, first round playoff games have been rescheduled.

Roanoke Rapids High School will have to wait a day to host their first playoff game since 2004. The Yellow Jackets contest with North Brunswick has been moved to Saturday night  at 7 p.m.

Roanoke Rapids isn’t the only team who will have to wait until Saturday. Northampton-West will hit the road this weekend and travel to Jones Senior for a 5 p.m. kickoff, while Northwest Halifax travels to Jordan Matthews Saturday night for a 7:30 p.m. game.

Not every team decided to wait until Saturday. Weldon will be at home tonight when they host Roanoke at 7:30 p.m. Northampton-East will also go tonight when they hit the road and travel to Wallace Rose-Hill. Kickoff time for that game is also 7:30 p.m. At press time. Southeast Halifax was still scheduled to play at home tonight.
