ROANOKE RAPIDS — Pattie B. Pierce, 90, of Roanoke Rapids, peacefully departed this life Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in the comfort of her home.

She survived by her children, Helen P. Butts of Virginia Beach, Va., Catherine P. Garner (James) of Washington, D.C., Louise P. Boyd (Nathaniel) of Alexandria, Va., Joseph Pierce (Debra) of Ft. Washington, Md., Peggie P. Ghee (Leroy) of Garysburg, Alonzo Pierce Jr. (Yvonne) of Capitol Heights, Md., Michael Pierce (friend, Hazel) of Roanoke Rapids and Patricia P. Tabb of Raleigh; 22 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and one brother-in-law, McKinley Pierce Sr. of Newport News, Va.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 7, at Twilight Missionary Baptist Church in Weldon, with the Rev. M. Bryan Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in the Allen Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Halifax.

Cofield Mortuary in Weldon is handling the arrangements.
