HAW RIVER — Teresa Lee Sharpe, 45, Of Haw River, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Teresa attended Guilford Technical Community College, where she completed Basic Law Enforcement Training. Throughout her career she was employed with Beaufort Police Department, Enfield Police Department, Scotland Neck Police Department, Mebane Police Department and remained there until taking a patrol position at Duke University Police Department in May of 2008.

Teresa displayed such stride in her duties as a police officer that in may of 2009 she was transferred from patrol and assigned the background investigator and recruiter of the Training and Recruiting Division “THE ROSE.” Teresa obtained many hours of intense training and education to obtain her Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate and served as a police officer for 20 years. She was loved and cherished by many, including her family and community. She will be missed by all whose  life she has touched.      

She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Lee Page; a sister, Brenda Lee Kingsland; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and a nephew, Tony Rice.

She is survived by her significant other, Carol A. Campbell of Haw River; her parents, John and Emily Lee of Gloucester; her brother, Robert K. Lee of Mebane; sons, Thomas Blake Lee, John Anthony Sharpe and Douglas Glenn Sharpe, all of Mebane; a grandson, Nathaniel Thomas Lee, and granddaughter, Teersa Aiyanna Lee of Graham; many aunts and uncles, cousins and nieces, Shannon N. Lee, Wendy Page, Sheila Page, Wanda Page, Michelle Rice; and a very close family friend, Angela L. Bass of Mebane.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, McClure Funeral Home in Mebane, which is handling the arrangements, and other times at 702 N. Third St., Mebane.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday , Nov. 1, at Lamb’s Chapel (formally Haw River Christian Church) in Haw River, with the Rev. Brian Biggers officiating.
