Lois Morris Bridges

HOPEWELL, Va. — Lois Morris Bridges, 72, of Hopewell, Va., died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, in John Randolph Medical Center.

Mrs. Bridges was a native of Halifax County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Elmo and Mildred Hawkins Morris; and her husband, Billy Thomas Bridges.

Mrs. Bridges is survived by two daughters, Susan B. Sebera and her husband, John, of Disputanta, Va., and Sha B. Wolford and her husband, Chuck, of Hopewell; a son, Thomas Kent Bridges and his wife, Tammy, of Enon, Va., five granddaughters, Melissa Bridges Clements, Laura E. Sebera, Karri Bridges, Caitlin Wolford and Meagan Wolford; a brother, Arthur M. Morris and his wife, Julie, of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Sandra M. Johnson and her  husband, Dean, of Pantego and Wanda M. Davis and Rick Avery of Jacksonville; six nieces, five nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m., today, Oct. 27, in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, which is handling the arrangements, with the Rev. George Dembeck, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends following this service.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com.
