Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather

ROANOKE RAPIDS — Paul Benjamin Harrison, 84, of Roanoke Rapids, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids.

Mr. Harrison was born in Northampton County, the son of the late Alvie Autry Harrison and Maud Justice Harrison. He was a retired employee of the former J.P. Stevens & Co., and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Overton Harrison; a daughter, Carol M. West and her husband, Kent, of Littleton; four sons, Robert Baggett and his wife, Joyce, of Roanoke Rapids, Paul Anthony Harrison and his wife, Nancy, of Clayton, and Douglas Harrison and his wife, Patsy, and Harold Harrison and his wife, Jenny, all of Roanoke Rapids; a brother, Alvah “Dink” Harrison of Roanoke Rapids; nine grandchildren, David Baggett, Jeffery Baggett, Aaron Harrison, Adam Harrison, Hillary Harrison, Travis Godsey, Brandon Harrison, Carly West and Harrison West; and five great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Oct. 26, at Wrenn, Clarke & Hagan Funeral and Cremation Service in Roanoke Rapids, which is handling the arrangements.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m., today, Oct. 27, at Crestview Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Currin officiated.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Littleton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 216, Littleton NC 27850.
